Communicate
From Linux-VServer
The Linux-VServer community is full of people who are more than eager to help anyone who needs help. However, it can be a bit confusing to try and understand the many communication options.
Here you can check out the various options for discussing Linux-VServer & Co.
IRC Channels
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a great way to connect with the community members in real time. The Linux-VServer project maintains the following channels:
- #vserver the official Linux-VServer channel
- Realtime IRC Logs
We also know of these (unofficial) channels:
- #gentoo-vserver Linux VServer development in Gentoo support channel
- #gentoo-vps the Gentoo Linux VPS project support channel
Mailing Lists
Mailing lists are a way you can communicate with other community members. Mailing lists are e-mail distribution lists. Each participant (subscriber) can send an e-mail to the mailing list's address that is then distributed to all subscribers. This way groups of the community members can communicate via e-mail.
It seems http://list.linux-vserver.org/ is unavaialble. Are there instructions for how to access the mailing list and search the archives?
You can subscribe by emailing vserver-request@list.linux-vserver.org with subject 'subscribe'. To unsubscribe just send the email with subject 'unsubscribe'. You must send the email from the address you are subscribed as, and look out for the confirm message that will be sent back to you from the list. Once you confirm you will either be subscribed or unsubscribed.
Nope. Doesn't work, and hasn't worked since Jan 2007. I have been trying intermittently since Jan 2007 to join the mailing lists with no success. Any chance someone could fix this!!!
Me too. I want to unsubscribe for over two months now.... but this is not possible!!. I consider the vserver mailling list to be spam.
I just subscribed myself to the list using this method a few weeks ago. And I just tested unsubscribe and it also seems to work (it sends a confirm message but I didn't confirm).
